Fantasy
“Let me tell you of the days of high adventure!”
In the broadest sense, all narratives are fantasies. Even a good number of biographies and documentaries are really fantasies. But I'm using the word in a much more restrictive manner for this list. This is a place for the stories of high adventure, filled with magic. Nor am I counting Horror and Science Fiction, (I'm also keeping Santa off this list, even though he could fit, because I have a separate Christmas list).
So, what am I counting? Wizards and dragons and swordsmen. High Fantasy, Sword & Sorcery, and Fairy Tales. In film, there isn't much of a distinction between High Fantasy and Sword & Sorcery, (the distinction isn't very important in literature either, though people love to argue about it) so just figure if there is anyone waving a wand or staff, this is the place.
